DIY Christmas Giftables: Data Cable Organizer Keychain

Have some time to do a little crafting today? These easy-to-make cord wraps are perfect as stocking stuffers or to give away to techie friends as small gifts. Read on for the tutorial! :)

What do you need? These simple things:
3/4" - 1" x 7" strip of leather, leatherette or felt
Sewing snaps
Needle, thread or e6000
Ruler and pencil
D-ring or keychain ring
Embellishments (optional)
Sewing machine (optional)

Measure and mark 3.6" from the end of the strip - fold there.

On the longer side, mark and measure 0.75" and 1.65" - each from the fold. Sew it down on the marked lines.

Check if it the usb port plug (?) fits. It fits! :)

Sew or glue down your snaps. If you cut a 3/4" width strip, use 1 snap, for a 1" width strip, use 2 snaps.

If you wanted to sew your snaps down, chances are the front part shows your thread. You may choose to add embellishments like rhinestones and such to cover it. Also, add your key fob ring or D-ring as well as a charm (if you want).

You're done~ :) I like the feel of the stiff felt more than the leatherette, although for looks and durability (in the long run) I would probably choose the leatherette.

Print this label out on regular cardstock or a pizza box. Haha! :) Get it here.

Assemble it like so: Thread your cable organizer on where the usb thingy is supposed to go, tie on the back securely. Stick down the thin flap on the backside of the front part. There you go!

So, have you finished making stuff for people in your Christmas list yet? I haven't! I'm up to my knees in chores-decorating (still! I know hahaha)-crafting and such. So, yeah. too tired these days. What are you guys up to? Enjoy your day! :)
